York Theatre Royal

The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!

Get ready to be charmed and uplifted as we bring the timeless classic, Annie, to York Theatre Royal from 12 to 21 February 2026. This family-friendly production promises to be an unforgettable journey filled with hope, humour, and heart, as it tells the story of a plucky young orphan who finds her place in the world.

Based on the popular comic strip "Little Orphan Annie", the musical follows the adventures of a fiery and optimistic 11-year-old girl named Annie, who lives a miserable life in Miss Hannigan's orphanage. Determined to find her real parents, she holds onto hope, even in the bleakest of times. Her luck changes when she is chosen to spend a week at the home of the famous billionaire, Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks. As Annie brings her infectious optimism and lovable mutt, Sandy, into his life, she teaches him the true meaning of family and happiness.

Annie is a celebration of the human spirit, with a memorable score that includes such classic songs as "Tomorrow", "It's the Hard-Knock Life", and "Easy Street". Audiences of all ages will be transported to 1930s New York City and leave with a smile on their face.
